Coe Brown Playoff Game

The Generals played Coe Brown last night in the first round of playoffs and got the 51-40 win. It was a very close game but once the Generals got rid of their nerves and starting putting the ball in the basket Coe Brown couldn't catch up. Stark had a rough first quarter, only scoring 6 points off of foul shots whereas Coe Brown put up 15 points. Stark came out strong in the second and went on a run, catching up to Coe Brown less than 2 minutes into the second period. They were able to put up 14 points that quarter and only let Coe Brown score 3 points. The Generals kept it up and played their game the whole second half of the game. Stark scored 17 points in the third whereas Coe Brown only scored 9. The Generals were able to run the clock in the 4th and Coe Brown got into foul trouble, putting the Generals on the foul line. The Generals only out scored Coe Brown 14-13 in the final period of the game but finished the game with an 11 point lead. Anna Stenger had an outstanding game, scoring 22 points and had 4 steals. Chelsea Woodsum scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 assists. Brady Johnson scored 10 points with 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Lilli Stogner put up 5 points with 10 rebounds and Brooke Patnode, 2 assists and Alana Sevigny both put up a point for the Generals. Stark had 20 turnovers and 34 rebounds. Valentina White was the top scorer for Coe Brown with 11 points. Natalie Harris put up 9 points for them and Jenny Bettencort, Lauren Curtin and Meski Wallace all scored 5 points. Mary Thomas and Angelina Rere together put up a total of 5 points. The Generals advance to the next round of playoffs and take on Lebanon away at 7:00pm Friday!
