Conval Home Game

The Generals got the 58-41 victory over the Conval Cougars last night. Stark held the lead over the Cougars all game, and were up by 12 points at the end of the first half. The Generals continued working hard and put up 19 points in the third quarter. Their press was very successful against the Cougars and they were able to grab a majority of their 18 steals off of it. Chelsea Woodsum had a great game, scoring 14 points for the Generals along with 4 steals, and she had 3 assists. She also hit a 3 pointer in the last 2 seconds of the third quarter, following a timeout. Anna Stenger was also one of Stark's top scorers with 13 points and 5 steals. Lilli Stogner was Stark's top re-bounder with 7 of their total 23 rebounds throughout the game, she also put up 6 points. Brady Johnson and Brooke Patnode both put up 9 points. Kacie Weston 4 points, Hailey Michaud 2 points, and Meghan Mefford 1 point also contributed points for Stark. The Generals had great passing in the first half of the game, leading to many good assists and a lowered number of turnovers, 13. The Cougars had a breakaway in the fourth quarter but Brooke Patnode was able to sprint down the court to block the shot and steal the ball. The Generals pressure and press caused Conval to have a lot of turnovers in the first half of the game. The Cougars did not score more than 9 points a quarter until the forth, when they put up 16 points. Conval also had 8 different players score for them but Julia Donovan was their lead scorer with 12 points. All other players scored 7 or less points. The Generals take on Conval again next Tuesday away.
